Does the library have fiction books in the collection?

The Berntsen Library does not actively collect current non-course related popular fiction. A small amount of Christian fiction is purchased.  The Christian fiction collection is shelved on the upper level adjacent to Study Room 2.

The public library systems provide an abundant supply and choice of popular fiction materials for leisure reading. Northwestern students can request popular fiction books from area public libraries via MnLink.

The Berntsen Library does collect works of literary fiction to support the curriculum of the Department of English and Literature. Most literary fiction can be found in the 800's section of the library's main collection. See the English & Literature Resources LibGuide for more information on locating literary works in the library's collection.
